That's because a significant portion of the audience is too young to remember the Lewinsky scandal, let alone know common ailments. Though, you have made me realise an aspect of the average person's failure to grasp statistics that I had previously noticed. It seems that most times I see people wanting to express "most people" they jump to one of "90%", "95%", or "99%", despite these figures being wildly incorrect. It'd be hard to take an educated guess without at least the demographic information for FML, but I'd wager something closer to 50-60% is more likely.
