Surely after the doc failed to fix it the first time you'd go to another dentist right away. The FML is that your doc failed to fix it, but ydi for waiting 2 painful years before getting a second opinion.

Why didn't you just ask to have an Xray done, when the problems persisted, and waited for two years?

YLS and YDI. Trust your gut instinct and always get a second opinion. An x-ray should have happened within the first week of recovery since there was no improvement. Follow-ups are usually cost-free too, since it's considered part of the initial appointment AND especially since it wasn't fixed!
