Come on 2021

Today, I realized how much 2020 has been an FML. We dealt with lockdown, stressful home renovations, losing a job due to health issues, and giant vet bills when we're already in debt up to our eyeballs. This has been a great start to our first year of marriage. FML

I used to jokingly say to friends that the difference between pets and children is that if all else fails you can have a pet “put to sleep” but you cannot do that with kids. But seriously, a pet is not a human member of your family no matter how much you love them. With human members of your family you do not spare any expense that you can pay that will save their lives and health. With a pet you may need to make a more hard nosed decision sometimes as to what you can afford to do and what you cannot. And by the way I am an animal lover, I have had cats and dogs (1 at a time) in my life and I loved them.
