Today, I’m trying to scrape $65 together to get the cheapest glasses possible. My partner is equally upset because she wants a MacBook to replace her working laptop. I’m only looking because I’m getting headaches from how old my current lenses are. FML

Today, while riding the subway, I fell asleep. I awoke to find that someone had stolen my glasses. From off my face. FML
Today, an elderly man had to give me money to pay for my grocery bill because my sister broke down crying in the store as I didn't have enough money to pay for both her milkshake and cookies. She's 19. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke up with me. It's OK, though, she says we can still go on the vacation I planned next month for our 3 year anniversary, just "as friends." The tickets are non-refundable. FML
Today, due to "severe cuts to the budget" at work, I had to stir my coffee with a paperclip. FML
Today, I woke up to a broken car window and a text from my ex that read, "Before you ask me, the answer is yes." FML
Today, my wife, who has a drinking problem, looked me straight in the eye as she poured herself a "water" bottle to enjoy while at work. FML
Today, I was clipping my abnormally thick toenails. I had to apply so much pressure on the clippers that a nail flew off, hit me in the eyeball and scratched my cornea. The doctor nearly fell off his chair laughing during my eye exam after I told him what happened. FML
Today, my new passport arrived, along with my expired one and its 20-year-old picture. I was comparing the photos when my husband came to look. He laughed and said, "Time is cruel." FML
Today, my girlfriend bought me a new hockey jersey and donated my old one. My old one was signed. FML
Today, I learned how birds feel when they fly into windows. I should be getting the hospital bill for my broken nose in the mail soon. FML

Tell your partner there are cheaper laptops available than a MacBook. I got an HP Stream from Walmart for $200 and love it.

Ah yeah, I know that situation all to well. My ex would throw a fit every time I needed to get something that would cost any amount of money. But she would spend money all the time and would throw a fit if I said anything. Threw her out and upgraded.

Not sure what "partner" means. If you're just dating then your differing financial situations are still a problem but if you're sharing a home & joint bank accounts & all, but she expects a way larger portion of the budget than you, that's way worse. Heck even if you are just dating... if she can afford poser electronics, she can afford to at least chip in half on your glasses as a gift. Give her a big talking to about priorities and how love means concerning oneself with the needs of one's partner, but if she won't change, sorry but you gotta admit this is a huge red flag. Self absorbed heartless brats like her are the type to cheat on you while you're in the hospital "because you weren't paying enough attention" and shit like that. Bail before she ***** you over bigtime.

Eyesight more important than a MacBook, especially if it is just a "want" (just because) and not a "need" (it's broke). Get your eyes properly checked and looked after. Also get yourself a less selfish, more caring, partner.
