Today, my mom was watching me during my Taekwondo lessons. She was yelling at me to focus on my own work and to quit hanging out with the little kids. I'm the instructor. FML

Today, I had to ban a mom from practice, which sadly meant the kid had to leave too. Several times the mom had been loud, disruptive and even rushed onto the mat because I wasn’t teaching her son the "right way". I’m a third degree black belt and I teach 5-6 year olds on my days off. FML

Today, my mum came to my ballet class. She spent the whole lesson sitting at the back yelling at me to "stop sticking your butt out." My ballet instructor had to ask her several times to pipe down. FML

Today, my mother followed me to work to see what I got up to. I'm a fitness instructor in a ground floor gym that has big windows overlooking the street. She stood outside and waved at me for half an hour, while I tried to concentrate on teaching a visibly amused class. FML

Today, I had to tell a parent about her son kicking a boy in his class. She blamed me for not watching him. I wasn't watching him because I was turned around to care for another boy he had hit right before that. FML

How did she not know? I teach at a taekwondo place too, Idk what its like at your academy but at mine its pretty obvious who the instructors are.

I hate it when people are oblivious. It's worse when they are dense as well. Just be as blunt as possible, OP. It's frustrating, but I've noticed with people like that, that's all you can do. Other than repeat yourself multiple times until they get it.

My dad works at a fishing lodge on the weekends (in the office- answering the phone, ringing up purchases, making reservations, answering questions, etc). Every time he would tell my grandma he was off to work she would say "Have a nice time with your friends!" She just didn't get (or would forget) that just because he liked the people there and OTHER people went there to relax, he was working. He would just facepalm and go "Ma, I'm *working*" But then have the discussion again next week.
