This is why I don't buy things I want until a two weeks after Christmas (I have family all over the world so presents are often late), because one time I bought my mother a 800 dollar ring she had wanted for ever, and wrapped it and put it under the tree. She had gotten herself a present, which ended up being the almost, same ring.

Sometimes it's nice to have 2 of a really nice jacket, so it doesn't wear out so fast and you have a spare in case something happens to one.

A few years ago, I bought myself a dictionary within two weeks before Christmas. My mother got angry at me, because she bought the exact same dictionary for me for Christmas. She didn't know what she was going to do with the dictionary, and told me that I don't get a gift anymore. I also got lip from my sister. It was a dictionary! Who buys someone a dictionary for Christmas -_-
