For all you know, OP may have a disability which prevents them from being able to work, or she could have kids which she needs to take care of.

OP could be working 35 to 40 hours but if she's only making nine dollars an hour it's nowhere near going to be enough to help support a place with rent and bills and expects the boyfriend to help by applying for unemployment if he can't find a job
