Today, my boss asked me to work over the entire weekend. That would be fine if I didn't already work a 60 hour week. He also said the extra hours on the weekend wouldn't be paid. FML

Today, my boss asked me if I could work this weekend, doing the work of 2 people, for almost no extra pay. I had a weekend out with my kids planned, so I said I couldn't. My boss called it a shitty excuse, yet gave a free pass to a guy who claimed he had a "phobia of working on weekends". FML

Today, I finished working a week's overtime managing admin, stock, finances, and three members of staff. I realised that despite all my extra work, I actually earn less per hour than the students who only work on the weekends. FML

Today, I started a new job. The hours are long, but I didn't mind as I could REALLY use the overtime. Turns out, they don't pay over time. I'm just expected to go "above and beyond for the company." FML

Today, I emailed my boss to let her know I was uncomfortable working over what my university’s 28-hour policy allows. She demanded I work 40 hours this week. In any other job, I'd be fine, but if I work over 28 hours, the university will fire me. If I refuse to work 28 hours, my boss will fire me. FML

Today, my boss told me I have to start work 4 hours early tomorrow, because that my coworker, who happens to be his son, will not be coming in because he's "too tired". I work 10 hours a day, 6 days a week without complaining. His son works two 4-hour shifts a week. FML

He's not even thankful for the hard work and hours you've put in! Isn't it illegal for the company not to pay you for your time worked anyway? I hope you said no. It sounds like you're exhausted. Good luck!

It is illegal , go talk to your lawyer and you can get the money he owes you plus compensation , he may also get fined by your city's committee and the better business bureau

First world problem. I work 80 hours a week , 1/3 of which is unpaid overtime and undertime (coming early ) but yeah, say no to nonsense like this.

Maximum number of working hours in the UAE is 48 hours per week as per labor laws. Please complain to the ministry of labor about this. He's definitely breaking the law.
