In Canada the drinking age is 19 (except Quebec where it's 18)

To be honest, no. There really isn't much of a reason at all. America is the only place in the world in which the drinking age is so high. It doesn't seem to work out very well for us either, as we also have one of the highest, if not the highest number of drunk drivers in the world.
