Today, I was taking a warm shower when someone in my house flushed the toilet, making the shower extremely hot. In my rush to get out so I wouldn't get burned, I slipped and knocked a tooth out. FML

You can get burned by hot air, I'm pretty sure you can get burned by hot water. :] And to the people who say "why couldn't you just turn off the hot water" a person's first natural reaction is to get away from hot water, not rush toward it. If someone's shower is too small to dodge the spray, or the spray is too wide, the easier solution is to get out of the shower till the spray is cool enough to be tolerable. FYL for living with assholes who flush while you're in the shower.

To all the people saying "Just step away from the water then"... How do you know the OP doesn't have one of those stupid tiny cubicles where there isn't any room to move away? My Dad's shower is so small there isn't room to take a single step in any direction except out the door.

Then turn off the water...it isn't that hard to do, and it's certainly better than busting a tooth in a spastic effort to jump out of the shower.

and the reson it gets hot is because when you flush it uses up a lot of cold water, therefore diverting some of the cold water from the shower to the John. less cold water means more pure hot. HT WATER
