Today, I was tailgated on the highway. There was a car in the lane next to me, and my tailgater was WAY too close to risk slowing down, so I sped up in order to switch lanes, which bumped me over the speed limit. That's when my tailgater turned on the flashing lights. FML

That sucks OP. Granted you shouldn't have been speeding but I'm sure almost everyone has done something like this before. The police aren't exempt from all road rules though so you should advise your local station that he was following at an unsafe distance. It's not going to get you out of your (even self admittedly deserved) fine but it's always good to try increase public and officer safety.

<p>Don't let tailgaters bother you. If you react to them you are more likely to get in an accedent. It'll be on them if they hit you. Sorry about sneaky cops.</p>

<p>You should actually take this to court. What that officer did is considered baiting and is illegal, and his dashcam video should be enough to get your ticket reversed.</p>
