just because you don't physically have your car any more doesn't mean your car payments just dissapear

As I understand it, even if your car gets lost in an inter dimensional portal, and you are making payments, you still have to pay it off. Same goes for mortgage payments.

Well, at least it wasn't a baby. It would suck if they billed you for an overdue baby that caught fire.

You still gotta make payments. I'm pretty sure that was in the contract you would have signed to purchase said car. Didn't you have insurance?

you hit the nail on the head. Op us clearly stupid.

so you should have been a grown up and had insurance or at least made efforts to talk to the company charging you. stop acting so surprised that you have to pay for something that you bought.

YDI for spending the insurance money on crack.

If you recieved an overdue bill, that means you got a bill previous to that one. You completely deserve this for just thinking it would all go away. After the car caught fire, you should have made sure things were worked out with your insurance/car dealer

Whoever you bought the car from isn't going to let it go. You have to pay for it. And if you're smart, you have insurance to ensure you can. YDI.

not having a car doesn't mean you don't have debt!!!! sorry can't feel bad for you not being responsible

Then you're dumb.. You either forgot to report it to insurance or, more likely, insurance didn't cover the entire cost of the car.. Either way, you still owe money on it... it's amazing how uninformed people are these days...
