Today, I received a bill from PayPal stating I owe $350 for an account that's linked to an email that I haven't used since 2015. I can't get into the account because someone hacked it and changed the password and security questions. Customer support is no help because I have no info about it. FML

PayPal customer support is no help period. I had someone put through a charge on my credit card, and when I reported fraud they told me there was no fraud. My family members have also had their credit cards compromised thanks to PayPal and they received equally atrocious responses. Report this to the police as PayPal won't try to help you.

OP here. I called the number on the bill and flat out told them it wasn't my account and I wasn't paying the bill.

You need to file a police report. That is the only thing that will protect you when they turn it over to collections which they WILL do.

PayPal is a joke Don't use them my friend had to take legal action against them when his account was hacked and emptied they said it was his fault.🙄😒

i bought a pre paid visa card and linked that to my paypal. that way even if someone uuses my paypal account they cant access any money unless i load it onto the card. if i recieved a notification of a payment i didnt authorise then i would just not use the card. they have no access to my bank or personal cards

you know those emails are usually a scam, right? They are looking for you to punch in personal information to try to get into your account.

It wasn't an email sent to me. It was a physical bill sent to my house.

Don't pay the bill. Go to the police and report the case as it is fraud as well as identity theft. If Paypal wants to put it on your credit report fight it with the credit report agencies. If you do fight it you will need the police report proving that you have reported it as fraud.
