Today, I met up with an old friend of mine who acts in a TV show. I hadn't seen him in a long time, but I'd been watching episodes of the show almost daily, so when he showed up I could only see him as his TV character and not as my friend. I ended up calling him by his character's name. FML

If they choose to, they can, but you don't ask them. That's their job, and if you somehow get them to give you a part and you **** up, thats on their head man. I really doubt they even have a say in the matter, only being an actor.

I'm sorry but this made me genuinely smile! I would probably call an actor friend by anything but their real name! I wouldn't worry about it OP, or should just show them how good an actor they are, or at the very least how memorable their portrayal if the character is.
