Today, I heard that there was supposed to be a huge blizzard heading our way, so I went out to stock up on groceries. After spending $600 on food, I drove home and packed most of it into the fridge and freezer just in time for our power to go out. FML

Today, my power went out due to a huge snow storm. I was in desperate need of candles and flashlights. I had to walk to the store since the roads were closed. I walked 4 miles in the blizzard. When I got home, the power came back on. FML

Today, there was a power outage at my apartment. I ended up deciding that the power wasn't going to come on any time soon, and that I should go to a hotel for the night. Just after I unpacked at the hotel, my neighbor called to say the power had come back. FML

Today, during a storm-related power failure, I jerry-rigged an inverter from my car to supply the essentials. In doing so, I managed to blow up the fridge, smoke and all. The power came back on 5 minutes later. FML

It's a shame grocery stores don't sell things that don't need to be heated prior to consumption. Things like fruit, vegetables, and Twinkies. Shame.

You act like you had no options! Call your brother and tell him to get peanut butter, jelly, and bread. Go to a restaurant that does have power! Order in. Take those frozen pizzas to a friend's and share. You're in America! I find it hard to believe that your only two options were to cook a frozen pizza or starve.
