Today, I left my friend this big Facebook wall comment about how adorable his son is. Just after posting, I read the other peoples' comments and find out that it's his daughter. FML

Well just delete it. I know the email notification will show the original but if he see's you edited it, it will make it slightly worse.

OMG its the end of the world, the ultimate mistake, you'll burn in hell... or just delete and rewrite it

Oh wow, what a big huge deal that you left a ******* comment you didn't mean to, are you unaware of the delete comment button? you are such a dumb shit!

Depending on how old the kid is, it isn't really a big deal. Three years or younger? Probably would happen all the time, you can't really tell, and unless you've been visiting said friend and playing with his daughter, it's a forgivable mistake. My friend's two year old boy gets mistaken for a girl all the time because of his hair. However, older than that... it's kind of awkward.

The OP forgot to mention the part where he deleted the post and everything was okay.

That's why there's a “delete[ comment]” button, stupid!
