Today, I got to work to find out I won't be getting paid for three hours from a previous day. Why? The new guy made a mistake on the time sheet. Being that he's new, he is being given the benefit of the doubt. FML

This doesn't make sense. If he's new, it should be the other way around. Meaning he SHOULDN'T have the benefit of the doubt from your boss. Either you're bullshitting, or you need to quit because your higher ups have no idea how to run a fair business.

You can bet he wouldn't get that benefit if he had logged you 3 extra hours instead!

Not bullshitting. The higher ups just don't know how to run a business.

That's just terrible! Go ahead and document your work hours with statements from others that were working with you, or time-stamped photos or work emails that you may have sent during your shift. Even if you are unable to appeal the shorting of hours, you have a file for the future, if this becomes a pattern.

Very. But the owner is getting away with it. He's also had the labor board called on him several times for trying to short pay and not paying proper overtime.
