This doesn't make sense. If he's new, it should be the other way around. Meaning he SHOULDN'T have the benefit of the doubt from your boss. Either you're bullshitting, or you need to quit because your higher ups have no idea how to run a fair business.

That's just terrible! Go ahead and document your work hours with statements from others that were working with you, or time-stamped photos or work emails that you may have sent during your shift. Even if you are unable to appeal the shorting of hours, you have a file for the future, if this becomes a pattern.

Very. But the owner is getting away with it. He's also had the labor board called on him several times for trying to short pay and not paying proper overtime.
