Today, I got a phone call to say my workplace was closed due to extreme weather conditions. Looking forward to my day off, I then realised the boiler was broken and my house has no heating despite there being a foot of snow outside. I'm spending the day in bed, wearing all my clothes. FML

why don't you just seek refuge at a friend's house until your boiler is fixed? -.-"

Go somewhere that's heated like a library or a movie. (25F and overcast here. No snow.)

fml? your day sounds wonderful. stop being a dick. I'm guessing that had you gone to work, we'd be reading an FML about your snowy travels, huh? suck it up.

Spending the day in bed? Do something productive!

What's the temp? if it's anything below -30 celcius your a pussy!

quit your bitching...I haven't had heat, AC, or hot water in 5 years cause of electrical problems I can't afford to fix...you learn to live with it

OP is lying. I live in London right now and there was 1 inch of snow on the ground this morning, nowhere near a foot. Things like school/work/etc were cancelled but that's just because London is horribly unprepared for snow. In Minnesota no one would have batted an eye and things would have gone on as normal.

Are you sure? One of my friends who currently lives in London sent me pictures of some holiday stuff she did this morning and there was plenty of snow.

It's not just the snow either. It's the tempuratures which are dropping as low as -19c. The ice is lethal.
