Today, I found out my no-work-experience brother has just accepted a 50k/year job. He is still in school and has never had a job. I work as an intern for 11 hours a day, get rude emails from my boss, and have 3 degrees and 5 years work experience. FML

50k and still goes to school where the hell is he working

Put down the hater-ade you're sipping and look for a better job. If your internship will lead to the job of your dreams, stop worrying about what others have. A lot of people have it better than you but it shouldn't affect your life. He didn't force you into your situation nor is he preventing you from changing it.

its all about who u know, be happy for him maybe he'll give u some chedda chedda

Isn't it just great how things seem to work out just fine for some people while others have to struggle just to get halfway there? It's the same with me and my brothers. They're the lucky ones. In this day and age it's all about who you know, not necessarily what you know.

lol, sounds like me. My sis was in college for like 5 years, and makes like $50k/yr. The closest I've been to post HS education is getting hammered in a few frat parties.... and make >$70k!

Internships are just slave labour these days. They used to be a useful way to learn the ropes, but now they are just a way for companies to not have to pay for staff. If you've been doing it for a while, and still aren't being paid, just leave, if only for your own self respect. Oh, and relax about what your brother makes. It's not like he's taking the money that would otherwise have gone to you now, is it?
