Today, I fell down the stairs. Lying on my back in extreme pain, I called my mom for help. When she came over, she said I looked like a dead bug, took a picture and posted it on Facebook. FML

Today, I was at a family dinner, which had gone into meltdown after my aunt said something sarcastic about my mother's drinking. I went out for some fresh air and stumbled about in the dark, unaware of the fact that a pool was being dug. I fell into the huge hole and lost a shoe. FML

Today, I went to a river near my house. They have several swing ropes that you grab and then jump into the river. As I was about to let go of the rope, my leg got tangled and I was held underwater. My mom watched and laughed for a while before she came to help me. FML

Today, I got stuck in a revolving door and had to be rescued by the fire department after about 30 minutes of walking in circles with no open exit. At least they got a good laugh out of it. FML

Today, I jokingly told my mother to "go fall down a hole" during a mock argument we always have. Not even 10 minutes later, our basement stairs gave out. When I said that, I didn't want her to break both her arms or to actually fall into a gaping hole. FML

Today, I had to poop, but as I sat down, it wouldn't come out. After about 10 minutes I realized I needed help. The only help I could get was my mother, who couldn't stop laughing at the sweat and faces I made. I still hurt. FML

I thought the same thing. YDI OP. There was a hole so big that you got trapped in it. You'd have to be a moron not to see it. The reason they stood around laughing and taking pictures is because they had a good laugh trying to figure out how someone could be so dumb to not see it.

I have to call fake. If there was a hole in your yard that big, you should know about it. Also, the fire department wouldn't stand around "laughing and taking pictures". Their professionals. Hopefully.

Get drunk while on duty? They should be fired but I guess they need some people there. But I agree, firefighters are just people so laughing at something funny isn't that bad if the situation isn't dramatic but taking pictures of it? That's highly unprofessional! I do wonder how the OP got stuck in the hole in the first place? Was your leg stuck or your body? You should have seen the hole if it was big enough to fit your body in it
