So it was an expensive ugly dress? Did you really think the price tag made it better? Most people will recognize ugly for being ugly, and a cute dress for being cute. Few people will recognize expensive for being expensive.

you have horrible grammar, op. Indont know whether to attribute that to age or country. Otherwise, the dress may cost a lot, but that doesn't mean it looks good. men are not experts on dresses and things like that (at least here in the southern US), so getting a response like that shouldn't come as a shocing revelation.
