Bra: thick fabric, padding, underwire, only covers boobs Bikini top: thick water safe fabric, padding, underwire, only covers boobs. Huge difference there.
If you can run in one or walk around in one, then you should be able to swim in one. it's not a huge deal, plus you should always do what makes you comfortable (or happy) regardless of other people's opinions because only yours should matter
would have to have seen to possibly make a comment, as there is a massive variation around underwear and body type that would dictate what was acceptable and what might make people uncomfortable.
Definitely. Smaller on top people can get away with more of these tricks, as the bras often come in styles closer to a bikini. But they can also become see through pretty quick. Larger boobs require more attention and depending on what was being worn, could be uncomfortable for people. But in the end, people need to lighten up. Guys stare at our boobs when they are covered, but a little freedom and they get squeamish.
Alycion, I highly doubt that it was the MEN-folk complaining about OP's see-thru attire. It was probably their obvious stares that upset their GFs eg, OP's bff. Just sayin'
They were afraid you’d eat all the krill and then end up beached.

Thanks. I’ve confronted this bully directly. We’ll see if she has the guts to reply. It’s not the first time she’s tried to deny my right to free expression.
Dude, your comment is derogatory and body-shaming to OP. That is not cool.
If you're sensitive to unkind remarks, then posting your FML here on this site (like many, many others) is not advisable. This is the internet after all. Just sayin'....
how could you forget a suit when you're going to a pool party??? ydi
Unlike bikinis & swimsuits, don't bras (esp. white ones) tend to become see-thru when wet? Asking for a friend....
no, no they do not.
Yes, yes, they CAN. Read elsewhere on this pg, plz.
Bras are made of regular fabirc, that becomes more transparante when wet. Bikinis are made of thicker, waterproof material that does not become transparant. Bras are made of non-stretchy materials (usually) and use elastic bands to hold on. This means that in vigrouos movement they will not conform exactly along with the body, which is fine when they are UNDER CLOTHES. Bikinis are made entirely of stretchy material to conform to the skin so you don't keep flashing side boob whenever you move in the when wet. Bras are padded with material that soaks up water and retains it, causing the to droop and sag when saturated. Bikinis, if padded at all, use material that does no absorb water. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME THING
No, but they both do the same job - hide boobs from prudes who think that a woman going topless is something to be ashamed of. Boobs are awesome. Except man boobs. If men can go topless, women should have that same freedom. And we can definitely do without guys who think dick pics are a good idea, too. In short, OP was fine to wear her underwear if she so chose.
It’s the connotation. Bikinis are meant to be seen but many people view underwear as private, even if they’re the same shape and such.
Again, prudes.
No, swimwear is designed to still be visually-appealing/ -neutral when wet; underwear isn't ... and it shows - more ways than one....
In my friend circle, I'm the only one that doesn't go topless. It's normal and should be normalized. I get that's not what you planned on doing, I'm just saying those guests should take it down a notch.
can i be part of your friend group haha
