Today, at a family party, my uncles were complimenting my mom on her pies. I cooked them. She took all the credit. FML

I'm with #20 you should have asked what she did and then when she failed to say what she did call her out on taking credit for something she didn't do

Should've said you did it instead of letting it end up that way.

Used to happen to me all the time....just talk to her

actually, they weren't talking about pastries.

How does one cook another's 'pie'?

Well if the cake is a lie, why expect anything better of a pie?

See, what you do here is let her have all the credit. Let her bask in the undeserved praise. Then once someone asks her to bake one of her famous pies, you've got her right where you want her. Once she starts asking, that's when she starts paying you back in whatever way you want. IT'S SO SIMPLE!

Actually, you don't. That takes too much time and energy. You take pictures of you making the pies and then show them to whomever says she did it. Or you make an announcement about how the mother lied.

I think my way of waiting for her to come to you takes less energy than arranging a photo shoot during a baking session... If its time and effort you're worried about, you have much to learn about the ways of the lazy. Lol ;)

Just remember you make great pies even if your mother is selfish! By the way you make great pies I heard from word of mouth!!!

Reading this is making me have the urge to bake a strawberry/rhubarb pie.
