I would talk to a lawyer, that is name slandering.
That would be a waste of money. The boss is expressing an opinion based on a fact that she refused to do work. Slander means spreading malicious lies, and his opinion, while harsh, is not invalid.
1. It's not slander if it's true. 2. Skander cases are extremely hard to oroove 3. Unless the you can prove the slander affected you financially or kept you from getting a job, you won't have a case.
It would be one thing if the former boss was saying this to prospective employers, however sounds like the guy is just complaining about his not wanting to do what boss tasked him to do.
Workplace chatter often relies on recalling old legends. Unfortunately, you're saddled with legendary laziness.
Lawyer up because someone insulted a lazy ex co employee? LOL
Usually when managers try to train you they say don’t do this or that. The fact that you refused to do tasks assigned from your manager shows your laziness.
I'm not sure how to interpret this... either OP was working a triple shift, and then I could agree this is an FML. However, if OP was just one of a third set of people going in... it's a YDI.
