Separation anxiety

Today, I’m glad that my friend’s grumpy old cat, who I’m watching in her absence, actually seems to like me. In fact, she likes me so much that she wakes me up at 4 a.m. to not only demand food, but demand my company while eating it. How very flattering. FML

The cat figured out that its grumpy act wasn't repelling you enough to leave it alone, so Plan B was making you watch it eat at 4 am. You gotta kinda respect that level of brilliant malevolence.

it's a bonding thing for cats. Had a couple of alley cats for a while that I was feeding. the big Tom Cat in my neighborhood hissed at me when I was feeding the kittens. Now, he can't eat without at least a few pets. It's a sign of trust.

aw, I think that's really cute. :) Like humans, cats get grumpy and wake up early in the morning when they are old, so this is normal.
