Freakout

Today, my soon-to-be step-daughter had as absolute meltdown at our rehearsal dinner, screaming that I ruined her family. Her parents were divorced 10 years before I even met him. Her mother was there because we’re friends. She’s 23 years-old. I honestly don’t know which one of us was more embarrassed. FML

Emotionally speaking, some people never grow up. There is such a thing as an emotional idiot and I think Step Daughter to be is that. Everyone there with half a functioning brain will know that this is the situation. The only thing you “ruined” was her illogical dream of her parents getting back together someday - That’s why the tantrum…

Be glad that the brat is an “adult” and is either out of the house or will be soon.

She's 23. As an adult she doesn't have to worry about her parents' business. At her age she doesn't need a relationship with her father or her stepmother. If she doesn't want to be civil, then she doesn't have to attend the wedding. Problem solved.
