Sandwiches rule

Today, it's the fourth day since I got home from hospital in a wheelchair after a car wreck. It was also the first day that someone in my house offered to do something for me. My father-in-law visited and offered to make me a sandwich. My response? I cried. My wife and kids laughed at me. FML

I think it's time your wife and kids, especially your wife, learn a little something called compassion. It's in sickness and in health, not "don't give a shit."

If you also suffered a concussion, it’s not unusual for emotions to run rampant. After a serious tbi from a car accident, I would randomly cry or laugh for no reason. It would just start abruptly and end abruptly. Keep an eye out for this, as it likely indicates neurological damage (before I got the tbi, I qualified for Mensa, now I’m lucky to stay on track with work as I forget stuff so frequently it’s scary) You might eventually need rehab if there is neurological damage, as you may lose fine motor control, and have memory/reasoning issues. Aggression and personality changes are possible too. I underwent both of those issues for a year. Memory issues stuck.

I was wondering why you got laughed at and then realized you're a guy, and it's still acceptable in our society to laugh at men for showing any sort of emotions.
