Sorry but, 'just remember they didn't mean to hurt you' - I think people know what they're doing when they cheat on someone especially with their partners friend.. Its not like, 'Oh you didn't mean to hurt me? Oh well as you said that everything is all fine and dandy'. People who cheat know the people who will hurt the most is the partner they are cheating on.
