Nice try

Today, my wife forgot our anniversary, and since she always makes me suffer when I forget, I made a fancy 4-course meal in our living room, wearing a suit and tie to really rub it in that this time she forgot. Turns out I got the right date, but wrong month. It’s next month, and so… my suffering begins. FML

Seems weird that making each other suffer is an aspect of your relationship. Maybe keep an eye on that.

You guys seem like two vindictive *****. How do you miss the month? That boggles my mind.

Ugh, you two petty people should get divorced.

It's crazy how many people that the very basics of marriage is making each other suffer and be as miserable as possible. Have you guys never watched "Married with children"?

Given how OP went all out with the meal and suit and the, it sounds like maybe it’s good-natured ribbing they do? Like one making fun of the other for how they never pick up their socks or always burn the roast (to use stereotypical marriage tropes). I think it’s cute OP went all out, and he’ll probably never live it down. If their marriage is the “good-natured rimming” type, it should make for a very funny story for years to come. But if it is more along the lines of vindictive shit-talking and passive aggressive put-downs like the others suggested, OP, you should maybe rethink your relationship and build it into something more loving and positive. Cheers, and happy (super early) anniversary! 😜🥂

No one else is going to mention "good-natured rimming?" Ok.

I mean, that effort should count as something, no?

It's stories like these that make me wonder how do people forget that calendars exist? Even if i think I'll never forget an important date, it's nice to have that redundancy.

use a calendar app on your phone to make a reminder instead it's a yearly that way you'll never forget again 👍
