Today, my car’s at the mechanic's so I called my mom and asked her to come pick me up from class, since it ends at 9pm and I was scared to walk home at night. She told me, “Oh honey, you have nothing to worry about, you’re too fat to get raped, plus you need the exercise.” FML

I wonder how Mom would have reacted had their needs been reversed? "Oh Mom, you're too old to get raped and you need the exercise." ... What a piece of work... I assume we all know that rape (by a stranger) is far more often a crime of violence than of sexual attraction. At least that's what I always heard... And that's why we need backup plans like a friend with a car or an Uber or taxi.
