Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my boyfriend of 3 years left me for a girl he's barely known for 3 weeks. FML
Today, my boyfriend left me for a girl I know. She was the girl my last boyfriend left me for. FML
Today, I thought my boyfriend of six years was going to propose to me. We're high school sweethearts and he was my first. Just as he was looking into my eyes he said, "I've been seeing someone else for two years and I'm choosing her over you... it was a tough decision." FML
Today, my boyfriend came home from college for the first time in weeks just to visit me. I was so excited that I spent two hours getting ready. Turns out he was only coming back to dump me. Now I'm single and out of foundation. FML
Today, my fiancé of 5 years left me for classmate of his. He says he feels more chemistry and a deeper connection with her, and if he moved forward with the wedding (most of which is non-refundable), he’d be marrying the wrong person, and it “wouldn’t be fair” to me. FML
Today, my boyfriend of 3 years left me because apparently I'm "too beautiful and he can no longer handle other guys always trying to flirt with me." FML
Today, my long-distance boyfriend of 3 years uttered the heartbreaking words, “I met this girl here in my hometown and she’s really great and we fell in love with each other, I can’t do this anymore. We’re over.” I was planning on moving to his town after graduation this year. FML
Today, the man I've been with for ten years left me for a coworker he's known for three months. FML
Today, after 6 years of dating, 2 years of marriage, a daughter and another one on the way, my husband decided that he’s "not the one for me" and told me he was leaving for his co-worker who he’s only known for a few months. Apparently they’re more "meant to be." FML
Today, my boyfriend of two years told me that he sees no future with me. It's alright though, because he says we can still "coast along" until he meets someone else. FML

Well hey, at the very least you can laugh at him when things don’t work out a week from now :)

If there's any justice, she won't feel the same way, and you can refuse to take him back.

Sound like she graduated loaded with summa cum.

Would've been better to replace "loaded" with "laude" tbh.

I thought of that, and I thought of “lauded,” but I thought “loaded” sounded enough like “laude” and has the correct meaning. I hope explaining my process makes the joke funnier! I doubt it did:(

I get that signal from my penis all the time.

Funny how if we're the one "getting dumped" we were wronged by an asshole, but if your the one getting INTO the relationship its "romantic". I guess it's all in our viewpoint.

"Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me maybe?" sums this one up perfectly. I hope he's just as successful in getting that girl as Carly Rae Jepsen was at getting the guy at the end of her music video.

All is fair in love and war... He'll figure it out soon enough and will post his own FML because you're unavailable.

Your title sums it up perfectly. While I think people can leave relationships for whatever reason (if they don't want it anymore they shouldn't stay in them) I completely understand you being heartbroken over it. Especially since you yourself probably met people you found attractive and didn't decide to throw your relationship away just because some other person turned you on.

I wonder if she feels the same way, or is he some creepy stalker dude? You might have dodged a bullet with this one.
