i don't care how many times i gotta look stupid repeatedly going "pardon? pardon?" i still gotta know EXACTLY what someone is trying to tell me.
Not exactly practical in a busy kitchen or restaurant environment. But the op definitely should've cared to at least get the general gist of things.
Maybe you should try talking and listening to them instead of smiling and laughing,,, maybe then they will be able to learn to speak English better.
I agree with number six, try to actually talk to them and they will learn how to speak english better because they are technically learning every word you say.
