Today, my girlfriend punched me in the back of the neck because I was talking to a woman online. It was a public Call Of Duty match, I have no control over who I play with, plus I wasn’t even talking specifically to whoever this woman was, just to the people in general like all COD players. FML

As some already mentioned this is abuse. But also how bloody insecure she is, what if next time you speak to a female cashier, waitress, lawyer or god forbid female family member. There is absolutely no reason to hit anyone, even if he was talking to a woman online. I cannot understand how that was her response. I would have asked, talking to a new friend? And maybe take a bit interest in the game to understand that it's online and multiplayer, and no you cannot pick and choose who you play with. She seems to have issues deeper, maybe she is suspecting of you, maybe she has previously experienced being dumped for virtual girl, maybe she is controlling, or mirrors her own actions to you. So many questions, but bottom line that type of behaviour should have stopped before reaching adulthood.

This. She had absolutely no right, even IF you were cheating on her with that woman, to lay a hand on you. These things rarely get better on their own. Please leave her.

Punching someone in the back of the neck for having a relevant conversation with a member of the opposite sex is…a bit disproportionate. Leaving her for this would not be, and if you choose to take a shit in her favorite pair of shoes on the way out the door, I wouldn’t blame you. I can’t speak for how she or your actual friends would feel about that gesture, just speaking for myself.
