Today, out of sheer stubbornness, my husband forced himself to go to the toilet despite severe constipation. He forced it so hard he now has a migraine and his nose won’t stop bleeding, but he won’t go see a doctor. He could have burst an artery in his brain but no, he knows better than "some doctor." FML

Stool softener (a little caplet) plus Miralax in apple juice - Use according to the directions… In an emergency you can buy ready to go enemas and they work quickly. Followed by the Miralax and stool softener daily… All these are over the counter at your nearest pharmacy… By the way opiates and pain medication can cause severe constipation - As can a diet with too many meats and not enough fiber and not enough walking… I have had several operations and every time I was on pain medications I got constipated - And it’s much worse if you don’t get enough walking in every day.

Severe enough constipation can literally kill if the bowels burst. My mom was forced to stay in hospital for a week over it. Get your dumb-donkey of a man to a licenced medical professional for their opinion.

JFC, tried to poop so hard his nose won't stop bleeding. I'm just, struggling with how hard one has to try to poop, to cause a nose bleed.

Brain Anurism would have laid him out by now. but very serious nonetheless. maybe once some of that blood goes up his tear ducts and out his eye he will rethink a Dr visit. do you have a dial a doctor phone/zoom support option?

Sadly, i have severe constipation due to meds i must take to stay alive. A few months ago, they found an aneurism in the base of my skull. It’s effin scary to take a shit. I’m wondering if one more push is what does it in for me.

Drag him to the doctor, and when the immediate problem is sorted, make sure he eats more fiber in his diet.
