Sorry. I'm on break. I can't make a sarcastic comment about this story now.
Call center service in general is amazingly bad. I wonder if it would be any better if they made a living wage. Would people bring their "A" game for 100k a year?
A crisis help line can be a resource for mental health emergencies. But it’s not the same as a counselor or psychologist. Most serious mental health issues need more help than a free crisis center helpline can provide. OP, at best they might be able to point you to where you can get professional mental health care… Having said that, it’s no excuse for a crisis center hanging up on OP - Even if OP were a seemingly over-dramatic frequent caller. OP if you have mental health issues you need to find a professional who can help you. Your doctor could probably refer you to a professional who can help. Sometimes workplaces have counseling services available for their employees (see the HR department, not your boss). Schools usually have a counselor they could possibly help or help you to find help. Some churches provide free counseling for their members who need it - But of course it will have a religious component.
