Dental health is important. Bad teeth can lead to all sorts of problems. Dental hygiene schools have cheap cleanings. Or, get affordable dental insurance. It's cheaper to maintain than to fix.
People make time for and spend money on what’s important to them. What good is spending time at expensive concerts and trips when your teeth are rotting and falling out? Not taking care of your dental health has very grave consequences. If you don’t take care of it now, it will get worse over time. There are dentists that can charge up to $100-$200 for a standard cleaning without insurance. Dental schools can even do it for cheaper. But alas, it’s all about priorities for you. An average flight to Mexico (for example) costs about $500. You can spare that money to get a dental exam and cleaning for sure. YDI
I'm sorry we're you looking for sympathy???
If you actually spend thousands of dollars on concert tickets, plane tickets and partying, you should definitely reprioritize the use of some of your money and afford to clean your teeth on a regular basis!
On the plus side, you won't be able to "**** out" when you look like a toothless hick. Although the downside to that is poor dental hygiene can lead to heart disease, so you might want to choose which is best in the long run.
Your mother is correct. It's okay to have fun, but there are priorities. You won't be able to enjoy all those concerts and what not if you have no teeth left... and you think you can't afford cleanings? Imagine what you'd have to pay for dentures or dental implants because you let your teeth go to hell.
