Today, I found out I have a restraining order against me from my ex boyfriend. Apparently, I drive by his house too much and it is considered stalking. He forgot that I live 2 houses down, and MUST drive by his house to get home. FML

Today, I had a restraining order put on me. I have apparently been following a woman's daughter home after she leaves track practice and parking my car outside their home. I'm a math teacher at the school and leave everyday at 4:30. I have lived across the street for the past six years. FML

Today, my husband's ex-girlfriend is getting a restraining order on him. Turns out, for the past 2 years of our marriage, he has been trying to contact her and ditching work to stalk her. To top it all off, he told me not to come to court with him because he doesn't want her to see he downgraded. FML

Today, after almost a year of dating and getting dumped out of the blue, I found out my ex-girlfriend wants to get a restraining order against me. I guess dropping a box of her things on her porch after she wouldn't answer her phone is considered stalking. FML

Today, I got a stern talking-to from the police about threatening and harassing people. Who had called them? None other than my stalker, whom I'd just informed about the restraining order I was filing against him after finding him in my house. For the second time. FML

Today, I ran into my ex-boyfriend on campus. Upset, I decided to go to McDonald's to eat my painful memories away. While in the drive-thru line, I realized my ex was right in front of me. It looked like I'd followed him all the way from campus. He thinks I'm a stalker now. FML

wait 3 months then brick his windows :) #4/7 lucky you, its way too easy to get a restraining orer here :( and yes vindictive women DO USE it as nothing more than a TOOL for revenge #10 it dont matter where you live be it one house away or 50 or 1000 hell you dont even need o be in the same house and they dont need proof that you mean them any harm. and have see the orders place agains ppl living in the same house. yes one has to then move out

ya, me and my sister have a restraining order against my sisters ex boyfriend who was abusive, it took about a month to get the restraining order passed by a judge. (now he is in jail :) )And i think this has been said but if you guys live 2 houses apart there is no way that the judge will approve the order.

#97, just because he got a restraining order rather than doing something silly doesn't mean he had a good reason and is intelligent. As the OP implied, he was probably angry at her driving by his house every day, even though she had to. The fact that she lived that close but that he was upset by it doesn't show intelligence or good reason. It's completely possible that the OP did something wrong, but I don't know why the crazy ex gets the benefit of the doubt. I'm not really sure it's sexism against guys either, and I'm a guy. It's no safer to assume that the girlfriend did something than that the boyfriend did something. There are cases of crazies doing extreme things all of the time. Just because he went as far as to get a restraining order doesn't mean he should get the benefit of the doubt...
