this sounds like he's joking. this is the sort of joke my father would find funny and my mother would roll her eyes at and laugh and would have been done infront of family for added effect. you should know his sense of humor HOWEVER, he should also know if this would offend you. I don't think it's a fyl or a ydi... swing and a miss with a bad joke after getting the wrong fit.
