Some people have a very good reason to fear bee or wasp stings - My mom’s father was allergic to bee and wasp venom. Once he was stung and his throat was closing up so he could barely breathe. Mom just happened to come by at the right time and got him to the hospital in time to save his life. Fortunately now people known to have this condition can carry the injection that prevents this extreme physical reaction… Bees and wasps are not inherently “bad” and usually only sting when they or their nest is threatened. If you fear bees or wasps it’s usually sufficient to stay away from them. They are an important part of nature. Of course you don’t want a wasp nest by your door because they might react to you coming too close and sting you. The big box home stores carry cans of wasp killer that shot a stream a long way. But mostly it’s best to just leave bees and wasps alone.
