Alexa, play "Another Day" by Paul McCartney

Today, it's just another day where my dad sits in the same spot in the kitchen for 12-16 hours, only to very slowly sip on alcohol and nibble on food. If it’s his day off, that’s his excuse. If he got off work, then it’s also his excuse. Twenty odd years of this. How can someone spend their entire life sitting in one spot? FML

Going to a job you hate everyday to provide for a family that doesn't appreciate the sacrifices you do daily will do that to ya...

that spot is his peace, give yourself another 20-30 years, you'll understand

Many people spend their lives sitting in 3 or 4 different spots. He's just got the process streamlined.

Why does it bother you?

Depression probably 😕

you will grow up one day and be doing the exact same

A man can be very happy doing very little. If that is what brings him peace and serenity, then let it be.

If he's been doing it for 20 years I'm wondering why it's bothering you now. I'd think you'd be use to it.

it's relaxing and feels safe. let the man enjoy his time off

I am on my feet 10 hours a day, in a factory. been hurt a number of times, treated like heathen scum but they pay to much to leave atm. when I get home I don't want to do anything or go anywhere. add in any sort of alcoholism and there you go. overworked people often seem lazy the minute they get to relax. it's like most white collar workers I know always want to go hiking, for drives, to the mall and talk because they are stuck sitting all day. the difference is physical vs mental exhaustion.
