Unreasonable

Today, I'm on my sixth straight day of double shifts, with four more to go. I make overtime so I'm not complaining, but today my wife texted me, "Going out of town tonight, I expect the house to be spotless when I return." Not sure how I'm going to swing this one. FML

you take out the trash. problem solved

Considering your working 16 hour days, the house should be spotless minus what little trash you make when you are actually awake. I worked 16 hours a day for 2 months straight, and I was barely ever awake long enough to even make any type of mess

not counting her mess and any pets/family members

"No". Problem won't be solved but it's a good first step

wow.... what a bitch. time to look back on her behavior and reevaluate what kind of respect she has shown you in general. she's either having a bad day or is time to leave.

better make sure you clean it before you leave then

tell her to watch her mouth and that her behavior is unacceptable. if she can’t communicate what crawled up her poop chute like a big girl, tell her to f off until she can

Respond with "I will pick up after myself as usual, but if it's not 'spotless' when you left, it likely won't be when you return."

Well, she can expect in one hand and crap in the other and see which one gets filled first. She surely knows how hard you've been working, right? Does she work? And even if she does, sounds like she has more time than you do...
