Today, the heat rash that has been devouring my side for the last week was revealed to be something much worse: shingles. FML

its a virus like chicken pox.. they call it shingles when you're an adult though... same kind of thing happens to u only it's worse when you're older...

Like adult chicken pox, except shingles r like 1,000,000 times worse, so usually if u dint get a pox vaccine and didn't get chicken pox as a kid and u get infected as an adult, bam, shingles, my uncle had em on his face, heard it hurt =/

i've had both chicken pox and shingles. i was like two when i had chicken pox but i was 16 when i had shingles so i remember the shingles more and it hurts really bad

32- not nessessarily when ur an adult, I got shingles and I'm not an adult at all, but tht doesn't doesn't mean it sux any less :/ sorry op

shingles is a form of herpes but not the STD kind also considered chicken pocks for adults

A girl explain it well in another comment. When you have chicken pox the virus stays dormant in your body. It can then later bust out of the cell it's in and cause a small rash like chicken pox that can be painful. If it's all over your body it's chicken pox if it's in a little portion it's shingles. both suck I don't care if your an adult or child
