Today, my mother woke me up by loudly vacuuming the house. I had to work the next morning, so I asked her what she was thinking. She told me that if I was really tired and needed sleep, I wouldn't have woken up. It was 3 AM. FML

a little bit of Nyquil will go a long ways for knocking you out. I had a similar situation, a neighbor in the building behind me was playing their music so loud at 3 AM that I could feel the vibrations 50 feet away on the 2nd floor. I took a half dose of Nyquil and easily woke up with my alarm a few hours later

My dad did stuff like that at the ass crack of dawn when I had just gotten to sleep after my graveyard shifts. So on my days off I started banging pots and pans, and slamming doors while he was sleeping and very quickly made my point.

My mom did the same thing at 1am and I had school the next day. I was in high school at the time and she was one of those night owls who couldn't seem to sleep at night. She also had the habit of starting dinner an hour or two after I went to bed.
