If he keeps this up, tell him there might be a time his brain will stop working, and ya, alcohol wont be able to bring it back to work.

Yea... I hate this line when addressing real alcoholism (as someone with an alcoholic parent) This line is meant as a joke/silly status. I hate to be a super serious stick in the mud, but OP isn't going through a joke.

If OP is in such a serious situation I'm sure they would be contacting some form of therapy or counselling for their parent. Or try planning a intervention. Not posting on fml. Yes it is a joke and this site is not exactly the most serious sites on the net... So perhaps you should calm yourself

encourage him to get treatment and don't enable his alcoholism. sadly that's all you can do. the rest is up to him.
