That is so awful... but really hilarious. Definitely something that would have happened to me. I don't have a text messaging plan either, and yet people text me alllllll the time. I usually have to pay $5-10 extra a month for stuff I can't control.

Ugh. Text messages cost the service providers virtually NOTHING. $0.25 is ridiculous.

Yeah. It's ridiculous that texts aren't free. My boyfriend and I each have to have a $5 a month text plan just so we can occasionally use text messaging (we're on a family plan, and if I send him a message, it gets counted twice)

This. Terribly drawn, too. MAking a "unique and fresh style!" doesn't give you an excuse to draw badly. It took me two minutes to locate the mouth. That shouldn't happen.

Yes, you are charged for every text message you send and recieve. It doesn't matter if you have a texting plan or not. If you get a text message from somebody saying 'k', you are charged the going rate for texting. Which in OP's case...was .25.
