Today, I went to start my just bought '79 VW bus. I put my key in but stopped due to the strong gasoline smell. I went to check. Found puddle of gas. The previous owner figured duct taping a cracked tank was the same as fixing it. And didn't bother to share that tidbit with me. FML

Probably should have had the car checked out before you bought it? .-.

This is only the duct tape's fault.

Just replace the gas tank with an empty plastic milk jug. Seal the opening with some duct tape and you'll be good to go for another year or so. It's a '79 VW... you will have to make a few repairs. The previous owner probably assumed that you just knew that, because anyone smart enough to get a drivers license would know that.

Nooo!!! ducttape is amazing :D

What does that have to do with anything? It could have happened anywhere. I ensure you there's never a lack of idiots in any country. @#9.

In all honesty, you deserve it for driving a POS like a Volkswagon. If that wasn't bad enough, a model from 1979? Come on, think about the environment a little more.

And you didn't notice that while you were checking out the bus before you bought it? ...You did check it out before buying it, right?
