Today, I went to see my guidance counselor. I was supposed to hear from my college about a scholarship by October 3rd. I was worried since it was already the 2nd so I went to talk to her. She never turned in my nomination. Goodbye $80,000 scholarship. FML

On the one hand, that really sucks. On the other hand, having been on both sides of that fence, your education is your responsibility, not your counselor's (or your parents' or your professors' or your boyfriend's or any of the other random people students try to blame for their own lack of follow-through), so YDI.

report to dean and principal. get that panzie fired!

Luckily you have the right to sue her for negligence, call a lawyer.

If you do it properly you could easily get more than the 80,000

Ugh, that sucks. I can't believe how many schools do this to their students. The entirety of my senior class going to college nearly didn't get to (which would have doubly sucked, because here we have the lottery, which basically pays for all our schooling if we go in state and right after high school) because our school sat on their butts for months, not sending out our final transcripts. That is, until everyone's parents had to call and e-mail in asking what the heck was going on. Even then, not all of them got sent out until more calls were made. >_>
