What Sparx_1 is dead on! Don't have kids if you don't want to raise them! I know there are situations where it's absolutely necessary to survive, but most parents these days are unwilling to downsize their lifestyle so one of them can stay home with their child. Sick and sad.

Sometimes staying home isn't an option no matter what for parents and these days with so many layoffs it's not really a safe option either. What happens if the only working parent gets laid off? What are the chances of both being laid off at the same time if they both work? And what about single parents? Maybe op is a single parent.
