Today, I got yelled at for calling out for mandated overtime at work. They told me if I don't switch to another day I will get suspended. FML

um yes. mandated is mandatory. means it's not optional. take your ass to work

How simple are you that you don't know what mandated overtime means and that it's mandatory?

So call and switch to another day. Even if you had a legit reason to call out, it's still mandatory and you'll have to go in. Unrelated note: At least you get OT at (hopefully) time and a half. Of course this is assuming you are hourly, which may be the case since they are calling it OT.
