Today, I was watching the show "Sixteen and Pregnant". I started bawling when the girl's dirtbag boyfriend proposed to her with a $20 ring he bought from Walmart because I was so lonely and was jealous of her "romantic relationship". FML

well, i think you have at least pinned down one of the many reasons that you have no love life...you waste your time watching stupid TV shows rather than hanging out with friends (who also have friends). Its like this whole social network thing is completely lacking for you...build that first and then you will probably run into someone worth while for dating

I've seen the episode you're talking about, how is it not romantic? The couple was poor and about to have a baby, spending a lot of money on a ring would have been stupid and irresposible. Her bf wanted to be able to provide for her and her baby and show her that he cared about her-sounds romantic to me. YDI because you sound like a stuck up bitch, no wonder you dont have a romantic relationship.

That was what I was going to say! He spent $400 on guitar hero, but only $20 ( actually I think it was less then $20) on her wedding ring!! Also wasn't he a good amount of years older then her?

I think you should rethink YOUR standards. If you think that a guy has to buy a nice ring for it to be acceptable then your shallow. If all he can afford is a walmart ring than that's good enough that is if you love him. If you love someone it shouldn't matter how much they spent on the ring or where they got it. I cannot believe all the shallow people here.

Who says your going to wear that ring the rest of your life? A lot of men buy a cheap ring at first because that's all he can afford and then later when he has enough money he will buy her a better ring. It's not like she is stuck with that exact ring the rest of her life.
